LEVEL 2 COUNSELLING SKILLS
STARTS WEDNESDAY 2ND AND MONDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2019
This is a robust and ethical course, led by counselling professional facilitators who will support participants to develop their counselling skills and encourage them to examine their own historical and emotional issues. The course covers some basic concepts of counselling theory, develops practical skills, teaches the true skill of mindful listening, how to be free of pre-conceived ideas and assumptions to help people to understand themselves better. Level 2 is intended for candidates who want to help others either in a voluntary or an employed situation. This level won’t teach students to be a counsellor but is the first step on the 4 year training to be a professional therapist. It is particularly well suited to those who work with people in roles such as nursing, staff development, social work, teaching, voluntary work and human resources and those wishing to embark on a career as a counsellor or psychotherapist. Successful completion of this course will qualify participants for entry onto the Level 3 Certificate of Counselling Studies. You will have hours 90 hours of face to face teaching time. Minimum age 21 years. A Counselling Skills Level 1 qualification is helpful but not compulsory for entrance onto this course. All applicants must fill in an application form and attend an interview with a member of the tutor team.
